Adam

Adam Lamberg is best known for his role as David "Gordo" Gordon on Disney Channel's hit show Lizzie McGuire. When Lizzie McGuire hit airwaves in January 2001 on Disney Channel no one not even Disney or the cast expected the popularity the show would get. It quickly became Disney Channel's top rated and most watched program on the network. Every kid ranging from 8-14 (according to Disney) was tuning into see Lizzie and her bestfriends Gordo and Miranda battle it out at Hillridge Junior High or in other words middle school. Lizzie has her enemies (Kate Sanders, once friend to Lizzie, Gordo, and Miranda) and Lizzie and Miranda's crushes first Danny Kesslor then Ethan Craft. The show was bringing in 2 million viewers a night to see repeat episodes and twice as much to see new episodes every Friday night. The show became so popular that after it went out of production in the summer of 2002 that there was discussion to have a movie of Lizzie called "Ciao Lizzie!" later changed to "The Lizzie McGuire Movie". So in October 2002 production began in Rome, Italy without cast members (Lalaine who played Miranda, Kyle J. Downes as Larry Tudgeman). While it isn't explained why Larry wasn't on the trip, Miranda was excused for being on vacation in Mexico City. The film was such a success in the theaters grossing 50 million at the box office and making number 2 at the box office its first weekend opening considering its competition X-Men 2 which was released the same day. Soon Disney and Hilary Duff were in talks in making a Lizzie sequal and bringing back Lizzie McGuire by putting her in High School and changing the channel it was on to ABC-7 and put it in Primetime so everyone can watch it. But Hilary and Disney could not agree and Hilary and Disney had a very public breakup. While papers were saying Hilary wanted more money and was quitting Lizzie. What really happened is Disney Channel only signs on a series for 65 episodes and then cancels it no matter how popular it is. So after 65 episodes Disney canceled it but agreed to do a movie (not counting Lizzie because they did reconsider). Hilary did not quit Lizzie. She only said she would not do a sequel because Disney wanted to do it right away and Hilary already had other acting jobs lined up so she had to say no. But what she did say is that she would be happy to do another Lizzie movie when the time is right.

The Lizzie McGuire

On October 14, 2002 nearly 5 months after Lizzie McGuire (the show) wrapped it 65th episode production here begins production on a new Lizzie project intitled The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Set right where the series left off Lizzie and the gang graduates middle school with embarassing consequences for Lizzie. After the graduation Lizzie and her classmates along with her friend Gordo go to Rome, Italy as an 8th grade graduation trip. Where Lizzie is mistaken as an international popstar in Rome named Isabella. Here Lizzie meets the adorable Paolo and instintley falls for him and agrees to pose as Isabella. While everything is going on, Lizzie is sneaking away from the trip (pretending to be sick) to be with Paolo. While all this is going for Lizzie, Gordo is struggling  to relize his true feelings for Lizzie.

All in all at the end of the movie Gordo gets what he has been wanting for a long time when Lizzie and him sneak off to the balcony and while they are talking Lizzie goes "Gordo?" he responds with "yeah?" and she puts her hand on his cheek and leans over for a kiss (not too short and not too long) a real kiss on the lips. Where Gordo is surprised and manages to say "Um, thanks" while Lizzie responds with "your welcome!" Then all of us Lizzie McGuire/Lizzie and Gordo fans are left with Lizzie and Gordo walking back downstairs not mentioning the kiss.
